Position: Ministry Assistant (MA) to the Senior Pastor (SP)
Status: Full-Time, 75% Work Remotely & 25% Work In-Person
Reports To: Senior Pastor
Compensation: Competitive and Commensurate with Qualifications

Role Overview 

The Ministry Assistant (MA) to the Senior Pastor (SP) plays a pivotal role in the overall management and coordination of his leadership over the ministry of Salem Church as well as outside missional efforts. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, a high level of confidentiality, a deep commitment to the purpose, mission, and vision of Salem Church and the ability to accurately and consistently represent the SP at all times and in all interactions. The MA will work closely with the SP to ensure efficient leadership of the church’s ministry staff and focus on its missional commitments.


Active member of Salem Church with a proven track record of faithful participation and service for no less than 1 year

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, but not required. Relevant work experience will be heavily considered.
  • Prior experience in administrative or executive support roles, preferably in a church or non-profit, is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks while handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously. A self-starter who can anticipate problems and work to address them ahead of time.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse individuals and groups in person, in writing, and over the phone (i.e. set firm boundaries with gentleness, redirect people with kindness, etc)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google (docs, mail, sheets, etc). Experience in data management systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and handle sensitive information with the highest levels of integrity is absolutely essential.
  • Self-starting and detail oriented, with a deep commitment to excellence, efficiency, and accuracy in all tasks performed.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances in a fast paced work environment. Able to receive instruction.
